About CalcWise

CalcWise started with a simple frustration: financial calculators on the internet are either plastered with pop-ups, demand your email address, or hide the math behind a black box. We believed a calculator should do one thing well — give you a fast, accurate, honest answer — and then explain itself.

What we build

Free online financial calculators covering savings, investing, mortgages, loans, and retirement planning. Every tool:

• Runs entirely in your browser. Your numbers never leave your device; we have no servers collecting them.
• Shows its work. Each calculator page documents the exact formula used, so you can verify the result yourself.
• Comes with a plain-English guide. Numbers without context are not helpful, so every calculator links to a short article explaining the concept.

Editorial standards

Our guides are written and reviewed for accuracy before publication. We cite authoritative sources (such as the IRS, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Federal Reserve) where facts about taxes, regulations, or economic data are involved, and we date every article so you can judge its freshness. When we get something wrong, we correct it and note the update.

How we make money

CalcWise is free and always will be. We keep the lights on with display advertising (via Google AdSense). Advertising never influences our calculators' math or our guides' conclusions — the formulas do not care who advertises next to them.
